Nigerian Twitter users have taken to their various social media accounts to blow hot over the alleged rape of one of the pupils of Chrisland School by her peers during a school trip to Dubai.

It was gathered via a video released by the girl’s mother that while the girl was being raped by her peers, someone recorded the act and posted it online. The aggrieved mother also claimed that the school tried the cover the incident up.

While narrating the incident, the mother of the girl stated that the school threatened her daughter not to talk to anyone about the incident or else they would kill her.

Reacting to the incident, a Twitter influencer via his handle, @DrOlufunmilayo, recalled that the school had a similar rape case between 2018-2019. He tweeted, “This was back in 2018-2019 when a teacher in Chrisland raped a child and was sentenced to jail for 60 years.

“The response of the school after all of these? They turned the mother of the child to an enemy. I’m only attaching all this for people who may not remember the story.”

Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, simply wondered why the school is always in the news for the wrong reason. She tweeted, “Why is this Chrisland school always in the news for the wrong reasons?”

Another user of the microblogging platform, Mayowa Olagunju via his handle @iam_doctormayor, stated that this world is a cruel one as he expressed his fears for the girl child. He tweeted, “The story of Chrisland and the rape of a 10-year-old girl by fellow students, and the school hiding the story is sickening. When does this ever end? Is the reputation of the school more important than justice for the girl? This world is cruel and I fear more for the girl-child.”

Also, Japhet Omojuyi via his Twitter account, @Omojuwa, gave his two cents on the matter saying, “Chrisland school failed woefully on many fronts. They hid the matter for an entire month? Took the kid for a pregnancy test without the parent’s consent? These are 2 big issues already.”
