Popular Nigerian artistes, Adedamola Adefolahan also known as FireboyDML and his counterpart Philip Moses known as Pheelz performed in the just concluded 2022 BET Award that was held on Sunday Night.
The BET Awards annually celebrate African descent in entertainment and sports.

Adorning a white shirt and green jacket, Pheelz performed his single, Finesse, on the red carpet stage of the 2022 BET Awards. However, commenting on his performance, a tweep @joshuadon wrote, “He even killed that Buju part like it was his. That just shows the passion mehn.”(sic)
Another Twitter user @TheRaven simply advised the music producer turned musician with the tweet, “Stop the dabbling while doing shows. This is not a studio. Just sing along the lines.”
Also, a user of the microblogging site, @boyweysabising said, “When its your time, its your time abeg. Big congrats @pheelz.”(sic).
Commenting on his performance, the organisers of the show, BET Award via their verified Twitter handle wrote, “
Nigeria’s own @Pheelz killed the pre-show at #CulturesBiggestNight! #BETAwards #BET.”
Meanwhile, Fireboy DML, performed his hit songs, Playboy and Peru, at the show. Through various videos that have surfaced on the internet, it was apparent that the fans were elated by the performance as they were seen dancing to his songs.
They have taken to Twitter to celebrate the YNBL-signed artiste.
“DML is massive in Africa when I worked for Apple music. His songs were always on the playlists. It’s incredible to see that afrobeats has become a mainstay genre in America. Yes! to international music #Bet award” @jennifer Le tweeted.
The user of the Twitter handle @dennis noted that Fireboy DML has proven that YBNL is not a local brand.
“I thought they said YBNL was local. Fireboy is about to prove them wrong # BET award,“ the Twitter user said.
Another tweep @da_dakoda stated that she was proud of the artiste. “I just watched Fireboy’s @BETAwards performance. That was super impressive. I’m super proud,” she wrote
Moreso, @pengmanmodel tweeted, “Fireboy DML performance at the BET awards main stage is a huge win for afrobeats and says a lot about the groundwork/foundation artistes like Wizkid has laid for the ones coming after them. Amazing!”
The two artists were included in a lineup of globally respected musicians, including Babyface, Chance The Rapper, Chlöe, Doechii, Ella Mai, GIVĒON, Jack, among others.
