Nigerian singer, Oladips, is dead

The Nigerian music industry has been thrown into a state of mourning as it has lost one its own, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji fondly known as Oladips.

According to a close friend, the rising star died on Tuesday after battling with an undisclosed ailment. The friend said, “I had been in touch with him.

I learnt he had been ill but I did not know it was so serious. I reached out to him on Tuesday but he did not pick up my calls that was when I suspected that something had happened. It Is very sad news but he is dead.”

Also, his associate Abdul Rasheed posted a disturbing video via Instagram on Tuesday night, showing the rapper looking lifeless after collapsing.

In the video, voices could be heard calling out the rapper’s name. One of the voices could be heard saying, “Dips, Dips, wetin be this abeg.”(sic). They tried waking up the music artiste but their efforts proved fruitless at the time.

Moreso, his management announced the passing of the 28-year-old singer via his Instagram page on Wednesday afternoon. The statement announcing the demise of the rapper hints that he has been battling with an unstated ailment for the past two years.

The management wrote: “We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS
passed away on Tuesday. November 14th at exactly 10:14 pm. We are still in shock as we speak!

“For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself, his body is now with his family and funeral services will be announced as soon as it is concluded! The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss. (amen)
