The Nigeria Police polo team and their counterparts in the Army were the toast of the crowd as they both shared top honours at the recently concluded Nigerian Navy polo tournament in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The glamorous tourney that featured four low-goal teams from the Nigeria Army, the Nigeria police, a civilian team from the Port Harcourt Polo Club and host Nigerian Navy was decided at the foremost Port Harcourt Polo Club Ground as part of the highlights commemorating the 66th Anniversary Celebration of the Nigerian Navy.

Polo Royals reports that the IGP Strikers, captained by CSP Usman A. Machika and parades the likes of SP Auwal A. Yayu, C/s Manir Sulaiman, C/s Aliyu Tijjani and Inspector Lado Aliyu used the two days to perfect strategies ahead of major tournaments coming up in Abuja, Kaduna among others.

“We are delighted to participate alongside our counterparts in the Army and Navy in this special anniversary tournament and we are proud of our achievement that has provided us an opportunity to  strategise and made new friends,” CSP Machika declared in his closing remarks.

Polo Royals reports that the grand finale of the Nigerian Navy Polo Tournament hosted by the Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Awal Gambo, was witnessed by top dignitaries from defense hierarchy, captains of Industries, Traditional Rulers, diplomats and lovers of the noble game of kings.
