Nigerian nail painter set to break Guinness World Record

A Nigerian painter, Lisha Seleme Dachor, has set out to break Guinness World Record for the longest nail painting (nail-a-thon) by an individual. 

The Plateau State young nail painter had announced in a Facebook post that she was making such attempt.

“I’m super thrilled and excited to announce that Ill be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon painting of artificial nails. This event is expected to run from 28th April to 1st May, 2024.

“I cant do this without your support. Come out and cheer me on to make this dream a reality! Its going to be a win for all of us and I look forward to making you all proud at the final second of the marathon” she added.

The event is taking place at Tamarald Events Center, Old Airport, Jos.

Plateau State Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Hon. Bashir Lawandi Datti, was at the venue of the event to cheer and support the young nail painter.

Speaking to the Daily Trust after his visit, the Honorable commissioner said he felt happy that a young passionate nail painter from his state is making such an attempt.

He said, “I went to the event center to encourage and support. She is the first person to make such an attempt and she is from our own Plateau state. Being the Commissioner for Youths and Sport Development, we need to encourage our youth to achieve their dreams in one way or the other.”

He added that he would prioritize anything that has to do with youth development.

Datti appreciated Lisha and also encouraged her not to despair, hold her head high until she becomes victorious.

He said she had the support and prayers of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and all Plateau youths.

The honorable commissioner, who doubles as The Chairman Nigeria’s Forum of Youth and Sports Development Commissioners, further supported her with a token of N100,000.
