Nigerian Midfielder, Luqman Gilmore, Aims To Emulate Mikel, Busquets

Nigerian footballer, Luqman Gilmore, who plays for Armenian Premier League club, Urartu Yeravan FC, says he aims to be like John Obi Mikel and Sergio Busquets.

In an interview with journalists at his new club on Monday, he expressed his desire to blend Mikel’s exceptional ball-winning abilities with Busquets’ composure and tactical awareness.

“I’m aiming to replicate the innate qualities of two well-known midfielders, John Mikel Obi and Sergio Busquets. By blending Obi’s exceptional ball-winning abilities with Busquets composure and tactical awareness on the pitch, I hope to offer a dynamic and well-rounded presence in the midfield,” he said.

Gilmore, formerly with FC Liepaja, emphasised that with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, he aims to achieve his goals and become a valuable asset to the team.

The Nigerian midfielder played for AACC FC Ikorodu in Lagos, where his excellent performance on the pitch earned him a move abroad.

The defensive midfielder had earlier said his ultimate goal is to represent the Super Eagles on the international stage.

Reflecting on the Armenian Premier League, Gilmore described the league as well-organised and highly competitive. He acknowledged the world-class facilities and continuous efforts by authorities to enhance the league each season.

“The league here is well-organised, with world class facilities. The authorities here are continually improving the league every season, to make it better,” he said.
