Nigerian Army removes, investigates Brigade Commander

The Nigerian Army says the immediate past Commander, 3 Brigade, Kano, Brig.-Gen. MA Sadiq, is currently undergoing military investigation into administrative discrepancies while serving as Commander of the Brigade.

This is contained in a statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Nwachukwu said that the former brigade commander was relieved of command to ensure a thorough investigation.

According to him, the Nigerian Army is a self-regulatory institution founded on the bedrock of discipline, justice, and accountability.

He said the army had zero tolerance for indiscipline and would therefore not condone any form of misconduct that could undermine the threshold of its values and principles.

 

The Director of Army Public Relations, Maj Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu Onyema, said the general was undergoing a military investigation into “administrative discrepancies”.

He said, “The immediate past Commander 3 Brigade Kano, Brigadier General MA Sadiq, is currently undergoing a military investigation into administrative discrepancies while he was Commander 3 Brigade. Consequently, the senior officer has been relieved of command to ensure a thorough investigation.”

He assured that the allegations would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate sanctions would be taken if found guilty.

Onyema said, “The Nigerian Army assures both our internal and external publics that the allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate administrative action will be taken. Our commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency remains unwavering.
