#NigeriaDecides2019: Lagos residents cast votes amidst heavy rainfall, tight security

Residents of Mangoro and Cement area of Lagos state on Saturday cast their votes amidst heavy downpours and tight security.

The voters at polling unit 019, in Cement area said in spite of the rain, they are “determined to cast their votes come rain, come sunshine.”

Our reporter who visited the areas reports that voting was ongoing at most polling units in the area.

While the INEC staff and voting materials were moved to a safe place from water, some voters stood under canopies while others hang around to cast their votes, our reporter observed.

One of the voters, Waheed Oladele, told Daily Trust that he will not leave the polling unit no matter what happens until he is able to cast his vote.
