Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, has expressed confidence and satisfaction in efforts the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) put in place in the conduct of Saturday’s elections.
The governor, who spoke shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit, Eri-004 Primary school, Otuocha Ward 1 , in Aguleri, Anambra East LGA, said the mechanism put in place by INEC was satisfactory to him.
He said the card readers were effective and working well as expected.
“The card readers are working fine and excellent. I’m satisfied by what INEC put in place,” he said.
He urged Anambra people to come out en masse to cast their votes during the election, saying staying away from participating will not be in the interest of moving Nigeria forward.
On the turnout of people, he assured that people will certainly come out before the 2:00pm deadline set for the election.
“The poll is orderly and will be on till 2pm.People will come out before 2pm and anybody that comes out before 2pm will vote and any person who come after 2pm will not be allowed to vote, according to INEC’s guideline.
“Don’t blame any person at the end, if you failed to come to vote at this all important national duties .Come out and vote to move this country forward,” he urged.
