President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a landslide victory to defeat his main challenger, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in Yobe State.
While Atiku polled 50,763, Buhari received an overwhelming 497,914 votes.
The results were declared by the Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Wukari, Taraba State, Prof. Abubakar Musa.
He said there was a Boko Haram attack that delayed the voting for about two hours before voting commenced and that voting however, went on successfully afterwards.
Musa also gave the number of valid votes as 559,365; rejected as 26,772; total votes cast standing at 586,137; total registered voters being 1,365,913 and accredited voters as 601,059.
