A reporter with Daily Trust newspapers, Sani Ibrahim Paki, on Tuesday emerged as one of the winners of Nigeria @60 creative challenge.
The challenge, which focused on creating slogans, poems and photographs that foster Nigeria’s unity and togetherness was organised by the federal ministries of Communication and Digital Economy and Information and Culture to commemorate Nigeria’s diamond jubilee independence anniversary.

Paki, a reporter in the Kano Bureau of the paper, clinched third position in the slogan category to join eight other awardees in receiving medals, certificates of recognition and cash prizes.
The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy complex and had in attendance its minister, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, the Director-General, Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and a representative of Nigeria’s Head of Service.
Other recipients of the awards include Nwabuka Ezinna who emerged first position in slogan category, Rejoice Chioma, first in poem and Amao Daniel Oluwadarisimi first in photography, among others.
Daily Trust reports that this is the first time innovative citizens were brought to participate in such a challenge and over 3,258 entries were received before a panel of jury selected three winners from each of the categories of the challenge.
