Nigeria we HAIL thee or we WAIL thee?

When and how did we arrive at this junction of almost of no return?

Who did this to the undoubtedly  true “giant” of Africa and the largest black nation on planet earth, populated with some  extremely smart people from all the  corners of the federation?

Were we blinded physically and spiritually not to have noticed the early warning signs of this great calamity that is about befalling the only remaining Africa’s mouthpiece and alter-ego?

Or were we just behaving typically to the African  stereotype of  always believing that  tomorrow will take care of itself even if  nothing is  done today  towards shaping  tomorrow?

Where and when did we take that last dangerous turn that we seem headed for the worse and plunging into a pit of no return?

The immediate future not even the far future looks very gloomy.

All prayers, all hands, all brains and all goodwill must be  harnessed to avert this calamity  and reset the national pathway towards predictable progress.

There is no more luxury of time for  blame game, lamentation and buck passing.

We are collectively guilty for toying with the fate and future of the black race.

Only collectively can  these issues be positively resolved amicably and  of course with alacrity.

The choice is ours to hail or wail for the nation.

History will be very harsh to all of us if we miss using  what  seems to be a last available opportunity to make amends.
