NBBF, it was learnt, reported Burkina Faso to FIBA Africa, for failing to communicate to Nigeria its readiness to host the first leg of the qualifier.
FIBA had originally scheduled the first leg of the qualifier between Burkina Faso and D’Tigers to be played between February 19 and 21. The winner of the two-legged fixtures will be eyeing a place in the Afrobasket Championship in Tunisia this year.
In the petition that was written by the secretary of the Nigerian federation, Patrick Okeke, the Burkinabes were accused of failing to give five working days notice about their intention to host the match as required by FIBA regulation.
The Nigerians were insisting their preparation had been stalled by the absence of communication flow with the land-locked west African country regarding the match schedule.
