The Nigeria-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nigeria will soon be registered, the High Commissioner of Nigeria in Pakistan, retired Major General Ashimiyu Adebayo Olaniyi, has said.

He gave the assurance while receiving the Honorary Consul-General of Pakistan in Nigeria, Pharm. Ahmed I Yakasai, in his Islamabad office, a statement said.

The statement, made available to our correspondent by Yakasai, quoted the high commissioner as assuring the consulate general’s office in Nigeria of his maximum support towards the registration of the chamber of commerce and industry in the country.

The Nigeria-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce is believed to be strategic in boosting trade relations between Nigeria and Pakistan which currently stands at about $1bn.

The high commissioner reiterated that forming the chamber of commerce would help in networking, business referrals, visa assistance, trade missions, representation of member’s interest and global business links through affiliations with so many chambers of commerce amongst other benefits.

Therefore, he promised to give the registration the necessary push to make the chamber a reality any time soon.
