Senator Yusuf A. Yusuf (Taraba Central) has said that Nigeria needs more technical colleges to boost digital skills.
He also said there was need to review the admission requirements into colleges of education for the country to have quality teachers.
The lawmaker spoke while addressing newsmen after a public hearing on three bills seeking to establish three educational institutions organised by the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund.
The institutions were Federal College of Education, Mutumbiyu, Taraba State, Federal College of Education, Giwa, Kaduna State and Federal College of Education, Ibokun, Osun State.
Yusuf, who sponsored the bill to establish FCE in Taraba, noted that the state had insufficient higher institutions for teacher training.
He added that the college, if established, would improve access to education for people of the state.
