The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Dr Liman Ibrahim Alhaji, has said that Nigeria has no firefighting policy after 100 years of existence of fire service agency in the country.
He stated this when he paid a courtesy call on the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, in Government House, Minna.

He said that he was in the state for a retreat aimed at developing documents on Fire Policy, National Fire Safety Code, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Discipline Regulation for Federal Fire Service.
The governor called for establishment of the Federal Fire Service in critical facilities of the federal government across the country.
He noted that the presence of the federal fire service in critical areas particularly petrol depots would be of great help in case of emergencies.
