The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed readiness to improve its trade relationship with Tunisia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, disclosed this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Tunisia-Nigeria Economic Forum in Abuja on Tuesday.
Represented by Bolaji Akinyemi, the Director of Trade and Economy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuggar said: “Nigeria is keen and prepared for robust engagements and collaborations as demonstrated by the administration of President Bola Tinubu and his commitment to economic diversification and growth through the initiation of policies and programmes that would boost foreign direct investments.
While expressing regret over the low volume of trade between the two countries despite their long-term relationship, he thanked the Tunisian embassy in Nigeria for organising the economic forum.
He said, “However, please take note of the legal requirements for registration and operation in Nigeria. The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has ensured great improvement in the Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria.
