The Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, has declared to the international community that Nigeria is safe for business and tourism.
Speaking on Thursday in Abuja when he had a diplomatic tour around the Art and Craft Market, he said Nigeria was safe for Nigeria and the international community to exchange cultures of entertainment and business.
He explained that the Art and Craft Market was reopened to give Nigerians the opportunity to showcase African cultures and crafts to the international community.
He acknowledged that the market used to be unsafe, but that criminals who made it unsafe had been gotten rid of.

Runsewe also called on Nigerians to use the market as a place where they could show their strength and cultures, as well as showcase them to the world.
On his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Yanko Yordanov, said the tour around the market had allowed the international community to know more about Nigeria’s crafts and cultures.
He said he was optimistic that more international communities would visit the market to learn and patronise Nigerian crafts and cultures.
He added that the tour had shown him that there were some similarities in the cultures and arts of Nigeria and Bulgaria.
