Nigeria hosts Africa’s first drive-through arts, crafts exhibition

Africa’s first drive-through arts and crafts exhibition held in Abuja last weekend.

The two-day event staged by the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and themed ‘Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World’ is the 2020 edition of the International Arts and Craft Expo which markets Nigerian arts and crafts to the world.

NCAC Director-General, Otunba Segun Runsewe, said that the main objective of the expo was to “promote, import and export the business of arts and crafts from Nigeria to the international community.” He also urged Nigerians to tap into the arts and crafts business.

Eleven states, which included Adamawa, Anambra, Borno, Ekiti, Kwara, Kano, Zamfara, Ogun, Kaduna, Katsina and Ekiti displayed their arts and crafts. Also, works from Kenya, Argentina, Ghana, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, and India were featured.
