According to the family Anadu who died in December in London, England was aged 74 and won the Eastern Nigeria Scholarship to attend University College Ibadan (now the University of Ibadan), where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology in 1964.
He was dedicated to the conservation and preservation of endangered species, and to the protection of the environment in Nigeria.
He helped re-discover two primates previously thought to be extinct in Nigeria (the white-throated monkey and the Sclater’s monkey). This pioneering surveys helped establish Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary, later to become one of the country’s best known national parks.
