About 1.4 million children under the age of five would be immunized against measles in Niger State the Primary Healthcare Development Agency officials have revealed.
Speaking at a one day Media Orientation Workshop on Measles Immunization Campaign yesterday in Minna, Alhaji Mohammad Usman ,Social Mobilising Officer of the Agency said already the required personnel have been trained and mobilised to meet the set target.
He said that the exercise would be conducted in two phases across the state beginning from 8, February to 26, 2018 .
He said the Agency had also reached out to religion and traditional leaders in sensitising parents to embrace the programme, adding that the two groups were central to meeting the 1.4 million target.
Alhaji Unman said the immunisation exercise would take place in all the primary health care Agency across the state, adding that the gesture would avail mothers easy access to immunisation centers.
He called on the media to assist in mobilising parents across the state to take advantage of the programme.
