He said out of the sum, N1billion was used to purchase 25,320 metric tonnes of fertilizer while N830 million was for the purchase of tractors.
The commissioner, who spoke at an event to mark this year’s World Food Day in Minna, said over 1.5 million farmers are registered with the state.
He added that certificate of occupancy has been issued to facilitate access to 250 hectares of land in Badegi and Katcha Local Government Areas for the establishment of a staple crop processing zone.
He said the state government is committed to making agriculture the engine of growth and catalyst to transform the economy of the state.
