The Niger State Government has said that it will continue to support the Nigerian police and stand with the force as they go through trials this period.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Sani Idris Muhammad, who made this pledge in Minna during the post-state Executive Council press briefing, added that the state government does not mean it is supporting the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), which has already been disbanded.

“We are against the brutality of any kind, be it from the police or the people, we are against brutality and violence of any kind but we support the police in what they are doing to secure the peace in the state.” he said
Muhammad decries the situation where the police are scared to carry out their activities because of the threat to their lives, adding that the state government is committed to facilitating a cordial relationship with the police force.
