Niger State Government has released the sum of N1.4bn as a bailout to 12 local government areas in the state to meet the shortfall in July and August salaries.
The local government areas are Agaie, Bida, Bosso, Gbako, Gurara, Katcha, Lapai, Lavun, Chanchaga, Paikoro, Shiroro and suleja.
A statement by the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Jonathan Vatsa over the weekend said, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello gave a directive on Monday that the fund be released to the affected local government councils, whose allocations could not cater for their staff salary.
