Coordinator of the project, Dr Benson Ojile announced this while speaking with newsmen yesterday on preparations for the seventh national trade fair sponsored by the Niger State Chamber of Commerce Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) scheduled to commence in Manna next week.

Ojile said the German Technical Cooperation decided to partner the state chamber of commerce to enable the state to showcase its potential and challenges in upgrading the value chain in Niger State since it has been identified as having economic prospect in agriculture.

According to him, the agricultural sub-sector has the capacity to reduce unemployment and poverty hence its decision to embark on a skill development and training which involves demonstration of faulty analysis.

Alhaji Salihu Madalla Ahmed, Niger State president of NACCIMA and chairman organizing committee of the trade fair said the state chamber decided to partner the German cooperation to stimulate economic revival of the state through agriculture as a way out of the global economic meltdown.

He maintained that the trade fair would showcase good attendance of agricultural input by manufacturers to connect farmers with a view of attaining the vision 20:2020 of the state government through mechanized farming.

Ahmed commended the GTZ partners for their tremendous assistance to the chamber and by extension the state government.

He called on the state government to sustain its collaboration with the chamber towards achieving the goal of wooing private investments to the stat.
