Dada made the allegation yesterday while briefing newsmen in Minna saying he was the winner of his party’s December 10, 2014 primary election having emerged unopposed and that the election was supervised by men of the State Security Services, INEC officials and national officials of his party.
He said the ‘fraudulent act’ of his party chairman was exposed when INEC displayed the list of party candidates where he realised that his name was replaced with the name of his party chairman, Musa Abubakar Mohammed.
“With the news item reported on NTA and Channels TV of the disqualification of Labour Party governorship candidate in Niger State by INEC, I hereby inform you accordingly that I am not this candidate so referred but a fraudster who knowingly and in connivance with bad minds who do not mean well for this nation, replaced my name with his own in their submission to INEC,” he said.
When contacted, the party chairman, Abubakar Mohammed, told Daily Trust that what the ‘self-acclaimed’ gubernatorial candidate said was not true, adding that Dauda failed to pay the sum of N10 million being payment for the expression of interest and nomination forms and did not qualify to be the party’s candidate for the election.
