The Niger State government on Thursday directed the police and other security agencies to deal with members of the gang known as Sara-Suka in Minna, the state capital.
Fears have been heightened that the hoodlums who have been operating in the state capital for the past two months would likely surface and disrupt voting during the general elections.
The deputy governor, who is also the Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Ketso, announced the order at a press conference yesterday.
He said the governor had already given the security agencies the task of not allowing voter apathy as a result of the activities of hoodlums.

Ketso said the state had put in place structures that would facilitate the mobilisation of votes for APC across the 4,950 polling units in the state, adding that through a one-on-one campaign approach, 130, 697 members of the ruling APC with permanent voter cards had been mobilised.
He said each of the identified members of the party with PVC had been tasked to mobilise at least five voters to vote for Tinubu and Shettima which would amount to 653,485 votes for the APC on Saturday.
