The Niger State governor-elect, Umar Mohammed Bago has inaugurated a 62-member transition committee to take stock of activities of the outgoing administration to facilitate smooth transition in May 29.
The committee was chaired by the deputy governor-elect, Yakubu and co-chaired by Suleiman Ndanusa and Engr. Mustapha Bello.
Inaugurating the committee at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, Minna, Bago said part of the assignment given to the committee was to interface with officials of the outgoing government to understanding the position of the state financially to enable the incoming government probe with facts the position of all government books, transactions as well as commitments made.

“Accountability is very important in governance, as the trust of the common man in us gave us this mandate. We have promised Nigerlites to be accountable and responsible to protect them and our resources, irrespective of tribe, religion or race. To achieve this, we are expected to be professional, diligent and firm. We need the understanding of all and sundry.”
