The football team of Niger State Zone emerged winners of the 3rd edition of NASGA which ended over the weekend in Oshogbo, Osun State.
NASGA was sponsored by prominent Islamic organisation NASFAT with youths from different states of the country in attendance.
In the finals played at Fountain University sports complex in Osogbo, the team from Niger defeated their counterparts from Oyo State 1-0 to take home the giant trophy that was at stake.
Apart from football, other games like basketball, volleyball, badminton, scrabble, table-tennis, chess and track and field events featured at the games.

Also at the event, a new basketball court donated to Fountain University by the Youth Wing of NASFAT was officially launched.
The President of NASFAT Youth Wing, Kabiru Raji said apart from engaging the youths productively, the main objective was to support them to realise their potential in sports.
The President of NASFAT Worldwide, Niyi Yusuf who was represented at the event by Fatai Olayemi, Assistant General Secretary of NASFAT Worldwide expressed satisfaction with the performance of the teams.
He said “We see sports not only as physical fitness, but also as a means of creating lasting relationships, deepening your network, and creating wealth.
“The possibilities are endless. It is limitless. What are you waiting for? Seize the opportunity please,” he urged the youths.
