Communities in Tafa LGA in Niger State which share borders with the FCT have called for action from the state government over incessant attacks.
In a letter addressed to the Governor Muhammad Umar Bago and copied to other stakeholders that went viral, the writer, Yunana Sabo, a community leader, tasked the governor to collaborate with his counterparts in the neighbouring states, Kaduna and FCT particularly, in sharing intelligence and efforts to combat the criminal activities.
He lamented that the economic and social fabric of the communities had been torn apart, leaving them in perpetual fear of constant attacks.
He, therefore, suggested the establishment of a permanent security base in New Bwari, one of the worst affected areas, as well as provision of relief materials to victims.
City & Crime further reports that there was a lamentation from security agencies from the FCT fighting banditry, who accused their counterparts and governments of neighbouring states, comprising Kaduna, Niger, as well as Nasarawa, of not collaborating from their ends.
