NHRC reconciles bickering FCT traders

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has reconciled a quarrel between the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) Abuja chapter, and the executives of Dei-Dei International Timber Traders Association, (DITTA), Abuja.
The commission urged them to embrace peace and work for the unity and development of the country. The executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Traders sent a petition to the commission against the Dei-Dei International Timber Traders Association for ostracising Chief Peter Ezeadua, former chairman of the Dei-Dei International Timber Traders Association, over alleged abuse of office.
Speaking last week during the reconciliation meeting with both parties, the executive secretary of the commission, Prof. Bem Angwe, urged them to concentrate on developing the nation’s economy. He appreciated them for coming to the commission with their complaints rather than taking laws into their own hands.
The President of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), Ken Ukaoha, said that he was pleased that both parties have agreed to maintain peace.
Ukaoha said that the sanctions placed on Chief Peter Ezeadua were lifted and pending cases in the court withdrawn.
