Pyxera Global, a nongovernmental organisation, has provided 250 units of furniture to some schools in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.

In his address, while handing over the items at a ceremony held at Yar Sharu village, Kafur Local Government,  the Director of the organisation,  Mr Lekan Tobe, said the set of tables and chairs  will be distributed to some selected primary schools in the area.

“Five primary schools that include  Yar Sharu, Unguwar Nakaura, Layin Baure and two others will receive  50 units of the furniture, which will serve 150 pupils each,” he said.

Mr Tobe said the NGO, which carries out its activities to support farming,  animal husbandry, basic and adult education,  had recorded tremendous success considering the way parents enrolled their children in schools as well as how they embraced farming and rearing of animals.

He said among the supports given by Pyxera Global in the area of education include  capacity building for teachers, providing teaching and learning materials as well as supporting farmers with modern systems of farming and inputs.

In his remarks, Dan Galadiman Katsina, District Head of Kafur, Alhaji Abdurrahman Rabe Abdullahi, represented by a ward head, Malam Garba Hassan, thanked the group for its support, which he said is making great impact in the areas of farming and education.

Also speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Head Master of Yar Sharu Primary School, Mr Shawai Bature, thanked the organisation for the gesture and assured that the seats and desks will be taken care of.
