A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Pan-African Purpose-Driven Women Initiative (PAPDWI), has described as worrisome the rate at which teenagers and young adults are engaging in sexual activities.
The NGO made the observation in its 2020 report in which its Executive Director, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ogedengbe, listed the most worrisome of the activities as “‘nude sexting’, ‘silhouette challenge’, ‘only fans’ and commercial sex’.”
Mrs Ogedngbe said that from 2017 to 2020, the NGO reached over 100 commercial sex workers in two major locations, Bodija and Mokola areas of Ibadan, with evangelical and medical outreaches.
She said interactions with the sex workers revealed that many of them were teenagers and undergraduates who used hard drugs.
