NGO launches initiative to mitigate environmental impact of tech ecosystem

The Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative (AREAi), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has introduced a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing Nigeria’s burgeoning technology sector’s environmental footprint.

The SCALE initiative was launched in Abuja on Tuesday and is funded by the Digital Access Programme (DAP) of the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Gideon Olanrewaju, the Project Manager, stressed that the SCALE initiative seeks to enhance eco-consciousness and promote responsible digital behaviours concerning the use and upkeep of digital tools and internet devices.
