An NGO, Africa Nature investment (ANI), has donated firearms, ammunition,and patrol vehicles worth N74.5 million to Gashaka_Gumti National Park in Gashaka local government area of Taraba state.
The organisation,has also trained 43 rangers and armed them to provide security at the park.

The Executive Director of the organisation,Dr.Tunde Morakinyo said ANI has signed a 30-year agreement with the National Park Service to provide technical, financial and management support to the Gashaka_Gumti Park.
He said ANI, a non-profit making organisation, would also provide anti-poaching patrol vehicles, satellite phone/ PTT radio equipment to enhance communication as well as installation of V-Sat facilities at Gashaka base camp.
Dr. Morakinyo said the training and equipping of the rangers was crucial in order to secure the park and enable tourists coming into the park.
He said Gashaka-Gumti National Park was the largest park in West Africa and has the highest concentration of wildlife and if fully developed and secured will generate employment and revenue.
He said the intervention, the first of its kind, was aimed at making the park the best tourism destination in West Africa, which would require it being protected and secured.
