The TY Buratai Literary Initiative has donated over 50 titles of books to New Kuchingore IDP camp in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), the chairperson of the TY Buratai Literary Initiative, Dr. Lizi Ben Ihenacho, emphasised the importance of cultivating a reading culture within the camp and beyond.
She said, “We have engaged with schools before, but it is crucial to connect with communities like this, fostering a sense of belonging through literature.”
Following Miss Jachima Ben-Ihenacho’s interactive lecture on handling and reviewing the book box, Dr. Iheanacho formally presented the book box to the head teacher of IDP Sharing Prosperity School, Mr. Luka Yathuma.

In appreciation, Mr. Luka expressed his gratitude on behalf of the school administration.
He emphasised the importance of remembering the IDP community and thanked the TY Buratai Literary Initiative for donating books to aid the development of the children.
“It is only education that can help liberate the coming generations,” he said.
The initiative had earlier visited the Army Day Secondary School, Mambilla Barracks, Asokoro, Abuja, and Al-Hikmah International Academy in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
