A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Committed Youth for Better Nigeria, in collaboration with the National Film and Video Censorship Board (NFVCB), has donated 20 electric wheelchairs to Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in Bichi Emirate in Kano State.
Speaking while distributing the wheelchairs, the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero, commended the organisations and urged wealthy individuals and other voluntary organisations to redouble effort in assisting disabled persons and the less privileged.
Alhaji Nasir, who quoted verses from the Holy Qur’an on the significance of assisting the needy, commended the donors for the gesture, which he described as timely and would assist the beneficiaries in easing the hardship they were facing in their daily engagements.
The emir also charged the beneficiaries to use the gifts judiciously and pledged that the emirate would keep monitoring them to ensure that none of them was sold out.
