President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has felicitated with a Member of the NFF Executive Committee and Chairman, Nigeria Nationwide League One, Hon. Silas Ali Agara on the latter’s appointment at the weekend by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR as Director General of the National Directorate of Employment.

“The NFF and the entire Nigeria Football fraternity heartily congratulate His Excellency Silas Agara on this wonderful recognition by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are all happy for him, and we believe he has the quality, character and leadership skills to fulfill the mandate handed to him by Mr. President, and justify the confidence reposed in him by the Government.

“His Excellency Agara has proved to be a positive addition to the NFF Executive Committee since taking his seat on the committee after he assumed the mantle of leadership of the Nigeria Nationwide League One. We pray that the Almighty will guide him to succeed in this very important national assignment.”

Agara, 51, served as Special Adviser on Sports to the Governor of Nasarawa State, before he was announced as running mate to Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in 2015, and thereafter became the Deputy Governor of the ‘Home of Solid Minerals’ after his party won the poll.

The debonair entrepreneur and politician has already been handed the mandate to “overhaul the NDE for optimal performance in designing and implementing programmes to combat mass unemployment.”

The NDE was established in 1986 to address the effects of the country’s economic recession of the 1980s which led to a deep drop in capacity utilization.
