NEXIM, Yobe sign pact on export dev’t

The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) has signed a pact with the Yobe State Government to facilitate export-related industrialisation in the state.

The MoU was signed when the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Abba Bello received the visiting team led by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Barma Shettima.

Mr Bello expressed the willingness of NEXIM Bank to progress the partnership opportunities with Yobe State Government in a bid to drive the bank’s economic diversification efforts and to promote the development of exportable agricultural products in the State.

He said the bank has launched the Regional/State Export Development Fund whereby N1 billion has been earmarked per state towards developing at least one commodity of export significance in furtherance of the federal government’s objectives under the One State, One Product Programme.

The Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Barma Shettima who represented the Yobe State Governor expressed the government’s pleasure to collaborate with NEXIM Bank.
