NewsOnline Team Parleys Rivers State APC Ahead Of Leaders Award 

The management of the APC NewsOnline led by its Managing Director, Dr Tom Ohikere on Wednesday evening met stakeholders and officials of the Rivers state APC ahead of the proposed APC Leaders Merit award initially scheduled for Thursday, December 7, 2023.

The delegation which included the state chairman of the Party in Rivers state, Chief Tony Okwocha, was hosted at the Barcelona Hotel, in the Wuse 2 district of the federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking during the meeting, Dr Ohikere noted that while the postponement of the date of the award was deplorable it was unavoidable because of logistical and administrative challenges.

He said, “We know that this leadership merit award has garnered so much attention and acceptability and we understand the disappointments of stakeholders on the postponement, but it was beyond our control due to unforeseen circumstances.

“There are administrative and logistical challenges beyond our control. So we have to take this step but we have been talking to stakeholders across the fold and factions in the party and a new date will be fixed and so I expect the new date to be in the next few days, hopefully next week, Ohikere stated.

Others at the event include Engr. Yusuf Hussain of the Tinubu Presidential Ambassadors of Nigeria and Diaspora (TPAND), Alhaji BashMajir, Alhaji Abdulazeez Salawu, who is the Chairman of the APC Broomplatform. Dr Shuaibu Musari 0f Techs Concrete company and Attahiru Samaolu, the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, among others.
