New Year: Gov Kefas pardons 31 inmates, vows to tackle insecurity

Taraba State governor, Agbu Kefas has pardoned 31 inmates as part of his prerogative of mercy and in the spirit of the New Year.

This is as the governor also assured the citizens that his administration is committed to addressing the security challenges facing the state.

Governor Kefas in his New Year broadcast to the people of the state on Monday said the pardon was granted to deserving inmates, adding that the decision in pardoning the inmates also reflect his administration’s commitment to justice, compassion as well as his belief in the transformative power of rehabilitation.

On the security challenges facing the state, the governor said in 2024 there would be a commitment from his administration in addressing the security problem facing the citizens, assuring that the protection of lives and property of residents of the state was top on his priorities lists.
