New police commissioner assumes duty

The new Commissioner of Police (CP) posted to Jigawa state, Bala Zama Senchi, has assumed duty with a call on people of the state to cooperate with police to curb crime.

Senchi, who was before his new posting the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC), Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, took over from Rasheed Akintunde, who was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

The new commissioner of police who hails from Zuru in Kebbi State is a History graduate from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto.

Senchi, who joined the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police also attended Staff Officers Junior as well as Staff Officers Senior courses.
