The new director-general of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed, has resumed duty, with the pledge to build on operational existing platforms, collaboration and policies to ensure national and international visibility.
He expressed delight at the reception held in his honour and promised to work hard to ensure the realisation of the mandate of the agency.

He also urged the officers and staff of the agency to embrace discipline and shun any act that is inimical to its operations.
Mohammed expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him the opportunity to serve, and promised to work effectively with the management of the agency to achieve greater results.
During a brief meeting with directors of the agency, the director of training and manpower development, Mr Arinze Orakwe, outlined their challenges.
