Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said that the new naira policy is impending state governors’ performance across the country.
The governor Bello stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
He is among the state governors who dragged the federal government to Supreme Court over the policy.
Delivering its final judgment on the case on Thursday, the Supreme Court ordered the circulation of the old naira notes alongside the new ones until December 31.

Bello said, “People thought we went to court because of the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections. We know the policy is affecting every average Nigerian. There are those that have lost their lives because of this policy either due to riots or uprising or those who went to hospitals but can’t buy medicine.
“And there are those that have died of hunger. There are millions of Nigeria that depend on what they are able to earn daily. Look at how the economy is being crippled. Those of us that are securing out states it’s impeding our performance.”
