Speaking at the occasion, pioneer national chairman of the party, Malam Sani Bukar stressed that parties should “search for leaders not rulers…innovators not imitators”.
Said Bukar, “Once we are able to do this, we shall easily march through the threshold of history by repositioning our nation on the nostalgic path of dynamism, action, zeal and determination.”
On elections conduct in Nigeria, Bukar said, “After one decade into our experiment under democracy, it is imperative to call on the agency saddled with the responsibility of conducting elections in Nigeria to try to be more transparent and innovative in discharging its statutory responsibility so as to deepen the democratic process.”
The new chairman expressed gratitude to the party for voting him. He however said Nigeria’s efforts at rebranding would fail because “evil cannot correct evil”.
