New Kwara CP declares war on kidnappers, cultists

The new Commissioner of Police (CP) in Kwara State, Victor Olaiya, has declared war on the “monstrous issue of cultism and kidnapping in the state.”

 Mr Olaiya made the declaration while addressing the command’s strategic managers at the police headquarters in Ilọrin.

 He said the police in the state under his watch were determined to deal ruthlessly with all manner of criminals regardless of their nomenclatures.

 He added that as an adherent of the rule of law, he would adopt the community policing strategy in line with global best practices to deal with the issue of crime, especially kidnapping and cultism.

Recall that residents earlier called on the new police boss to follow up his utterances with action.
