A new group consisting of some eminent persons in Plateau State has emerged with the aim of returning the state to its former status as being a home for all.

Benue/Plateau Trust reports that the group, which is known as J-Town Ambassadors, has Suleiman Abubakar, Emmanuel Oluoha, Hon. Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, Emmanuel Chollom, Suleiman Umar, Ogola Onazi and Odessa Chuwang as some of its members.

With their slogan of “Unity in Diversity”, the ambassadors said their mission is “to come together and make a difference in Jos and its communities in order to enrich lives, overcome poverty and promote social justice”.

Their concept note also said they would demonstrate an unbigoted way of coexisting to improve the health of the people through community health services, enhance the education of the people and improve the lives of the less privileged.

Speaking during an outreach at Simji Girl-Child Empowerment Initiative and Orphanage in Jos, the Chairman of the J-Town Ambassadors, Suleiman Abubakar, said one of their core objectives was to groom the younger ones and teach them the value of unity, love and friendship.

He said the J-Town Ambassadors was non-political and made up of dedicated men and women who firmly believe that “to whom much is given, much is also expected”.

Meanwhile, the group has donated food items, toiletries and other materials as well as the sum of N100, 000 to the orphanage.
