He also told Daily Trust in a telephone chat yesterday that Nigeria should not be quiet when things are going wrong all-over the continent.
The ex-diplomat said “even though he [Wali] is not a career diplomat he has been in the system for long to be able to understand how the system works.”
He advised the new minister to work closely with the professionals in the ministry to move the ministry forward.
According to him, under Wali, Nigeria should try as much as possible to revive the activist role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as it was in the 1970s and 1980s and listen to the professionals and desist from know-all attitude.
