New FAAN MD assumes office, promises customer-centric airports

The newly appointed Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Kabir Yusuf, has said he will develop and profitably managed customer-centric airports across the country.

He made the commitment during the formal takeover ceremony.

The outgone Managing Director/CEO Capt. Hamisu Yadudu, officially handed over to the new MD on Tuesday.

“I pledge to serve at all times to develop and profitably managed customer centric airports authority with facilities that are good for self secure and efficient carriage of good and services at world class standards,” he promised.

He also said he will consolidate on the successes of the past management.

“We can only consolidate on the accomplishments of the past administration. Everything you see at the airports that are making passengers friendly, we will continue to do more,” he said.

According to him, the current global reality that aviation drives suitable growth.

“FAAN management will put all hands on deck to reposition our airports towards establishing its sustainability driven by purposeful leadership, professionalism, discipline, accountability and responsibility. Therefore, we crave for the support of staff and all other stakeholders to build on successes of our leaders.

“I’m humbled by this appointment and I’m grateful about the opportunity to serve my country. I’m not the most qualified, I’m not the most experienced or the most deserved but its just a choice of God and I’m grateful. I’m privileged to lead this team now and having learnt from my bosses, I will follow through,” he stated.

In his remarks before handing over to the MD, Capt. Yadudu said his tenure expired on the 19th of May, 2023.

He expressed satisfaction over his stewardship, saying he was leaving FAAN better than he met it.
