Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appointed Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Inuwa as the new Emir of Rano and the Chairman of Rano Emirate Council.
The appointment followed the death of the pioneer First Class Emir of Rano Emirate, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II about three days ago.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Usman Alhaji, who announced the development said the new emir was selected by the governor out of three potential nominees submitted to him by Kingmakers of the emirate.
Until his appointment, the new emir was the Kaigaman Rano and the District Head of Kibiya, Kibiya Local Government Area.
Announcing the appointment of the new emir yesterday at the Africa House, Kano, the SSG said, “We are all aware to the fact that recently we witnessed the demise of the Emir of Rano Emirate which occurred only three days ago.
“The kingmakers have in their wisdom recommended three people.
“Out of these nominees, the kingmakers forwarded to his Excellency the Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and pursuant to the power given to him by the Emirate Council Law 2019, approved the appointment of Alhaji Kabir Mohammed Inuwa, the current Kaigaman Rano and the District Head of Kibiya as the new appointed Emir of Rano Emirate and the Chairman of Rano Emirate Council.”
